Homecoming Week at Oxford High School was in full force last week. The themes included Wild West Day, ’50s Day, and ’80s Day – all in honor of the famous movie trilogy Back to the Future.

Thursday was ’80s Day and the clothing scheme of the entire school had changed drastically. The wardrobe for the day included leg warmers, scrunchies, neon colors, bold makeup, flight suits, bulky jackets and big hair.

Numerous students were getting into the groove of ’80s day by jamming to their favorite ’80s songs:

Alden McInnis, “Time After Time” – Cyndi Lauper
Ally Weatherly, “Somebody’s Baby” – Jackson Browne
Grace Smith, “Patience” – Guns ’n’ Roses
Mary Morgan Grantham, “The Power of Love” – Huey Lewis
Lori Wilson, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” – Simple Minds
Loralei Jackson, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” – Cyndi Lauper
Sugi Wiltcher, “Jessie’s Girl” – Rick Springfield
Shawn Chao, “We are the Champions” – Queen
Crayton Bowie, “True Men Don’t Kill Coyotes” – Red Hot Chili Peppers
Sam Peeler, “Sexual Healing” – Marvin Gaye
