Oxford Cross Country ends Season with second place finish

The Oxford High School Cross Country team finished the season on November 9 at the Mississippi College cross country course. The teams main rival was Saltillo. The Boy’s Cross Country Team placed second with thirty-four points just seven points behind Saltillo who received 27 points. Sophomore John Owen Yoste placed third with a time of 17:36 for the 5k race. Junior Jonathan Tyler placed fourth with a time of 17:46, Junior Will Farmer placed seventh with a time of 17:52, Freshman Thomas Mayo placed ninth with a time of 18:02, and Senior Alex Thomas placed eleventh with a time of 18:12. The girls also placed second with forty-nine points, twenty-nine points behind Saltillo who received twenty points. Freshman Addy Thompson placed second with a time of 20:53 for the 5k race. Freshman Katelyn Rock placed eleventh with a time of 21:51, Sophomore Ally Shinall placed twelfth with a time of 21:52, Sophomore Margaret Adams placed thirteenth with a time of 21:52, and Freshman Lilly Grace Mitchell placed fifteenth with a time of 22:21.
