Bookmark design contest announced by OHS library

The Oxford High School library is holding a contest, beginning in March, to excite the student body about National Library Week that starts the second week of April.

“For the month of March, we are going to have a bookmark design contest, and basically anyone can submit a design for a bookmark,” Librarian Lynndy Hurdle said.

Hurdle has been organizing this contest along with other activities including visits from authors and other activities that will take place during National Library Week.  One author that Hurdle confirmed will be traveling to OHS in April to speak is Moriah McStay, who came out with her popular novel, “Everything That Makes You.”

“The only stipulation (for the bookmark) is that it has to have the word “read” on it somewhere, and the whole design is up to him or her,”  Hurdle said.

The bookmark design must be completed by the end of March so Hurdle can collect the entries and post them on the OHS Library Schoology page for the student body to vote on the top five designs.  The winning five designs will then be printed and put out for students to receive in the library during National Library week in April.
