Week four MVP: K William Wilkinson (235 KO YRDS)

For their homecoming game, the Oxford Chargers will be hosting the 1-3 Murrah Mustangs on Friday night. Oxford is coming off of a 32-23 loss to Lafayette High School.

Players to watch:

Oxford K William Wilkinson: 5’11” 145 lbs sophomore for Oxford. This season, Wilkinson is 7/7 on PAT. With 13 KO, Wilkinson averages 46.7 yards per game with a total of 607 yards on KO.

Oxford LB, P Ben Goubeaux: 6’0” 220 lbs senior for Oxford. This season, Goubeaux averages 14 tackles a game. While Goubeaux plays defense for Oxford, he also punts for special teams. With 392 punting yards on the season, Goubeaux is definitely one to watch this Friday night.

X Factor:

Oxford’s Offense: While the Chargers lost WRs due to graduation, the Charger offense will have to have fun this game and not play tight. The Chargers are known as a second half team and usually score the most after the half time talk. Having multiple QBs and RBs helps keep the backfield fresh for the Chargers. The X Factor for Friday’s game will be the offense for Oxford, and they will have to set the tone and keep up the energy throughout the game against Murrah.

Prediction

Coming off of a loss to Lafayette, the Chargers have mistakes to learn from. The Chargers will have fun tonight as will the homecoming court. The Chargers’ defense will make the stops they need to make and the offense will settle in real quick. 33-10, Chargers.
