The Vanderbilt Commodores have not won a conference game. It would continue after visiting Oxford as the Ole Miss Rebels won by a score of 31-17. Ole Miss would climb up three spots in the CFB Playoff Rankings after an impressive win against the 11th ranked Texas A&M Aggies.

Quarterback Matt Corral would lead the Rebels down the field in 5 plays and cover 65 yards, ending the drive with an 8 yard touchdown pass to running back Jerrion Ealy. On the next drive, Corral would orchestrate another march down the field which would unfortunately lead to a field goal putting Ole Miss up 10-0 early. Vanderbilt would tack on two field goals sandwiched with another drive put together by Corral, ending in a touchdown pass to receiver Dontario Drummond. The Commodores would be forced on a 3-and-out on the next drive and the Rebels’ special teams would make their mark, blocking the Vandrerbilt punt. This would set up Ole Miss with a short field, ending in a touchdown run by Jerrion Ealy. Vanderbilt would drive down the field and hit their third field goal to end the second quarter. The Rebels would be up 24-9 going into the half.

The second half would be controlled by the defense on both sides. The first five possessions coming out of the break would result in punts and no points scored. The Rebels would finally break through with a score, their last of the night, on an 8 yard touchdown run by running back Henry Parrish Jr. Vanderbilt would drive down the field and answer with a touchdown of their own to cap off the scoring for the night. Ole Miss would drive down the field once more, but quarterback Matt Corral would throw a rare interception deep in the red zone. The Rebel defense would hold off the Commodores with a turnover on downs and an interception to end the game. It wasn’t the performance Ole Miss was hoping to end off on, but the Rebels would come away with the win 31-17. Ole Miss would finish the season undefeated at home.
