The Ole Miss Rebels would go into Starkville and take down the Bulldogs in dominant fashion, claiming back to back Egg Bowl wins against Mississippi State. The Rebels would climb 3 spots in the College Football Playoff to #9 after defeating Vanderbilt the week prior to close out home games for the 2021 campaign.

The Bulldogs would set the tempo early after stopping the Rebels on fourth down from their own 33 yard line. They would cash in two field goals, sandwiched by an Ole Miss field goal, to take a 6-3 lead early. The Rebels would find some attack later on by driving down the field on 16 plays and covering 78 yards and scoring a touchdown on a one yard run by running back Snoop Conner. Mississippi State would miss two field goals on consecutive drives after converting on two consecutive field goals to start the game. Ole Miss would maintain a 10-6 lead heading into the half.

The Rebels would set the tempo in the second half by driving Mississippi State to punt on the opening possession. The Ole Miss offense would then march down the field and score a touchdown on a one yard run from Snoop Conner again to take a 17-6 lead. The Rebel defense would hold strong by forcing the Bulldogs to give the ball back on three straight possessions. Ole Miss would score once more on a four yard touchdown run from quarterback Matt Corral and take a 24-6 lead over Mississippi State. The Rebels seemed to be rolling until Corral would throw a rare interception leading to the Bulldogs cashing in on a touchdown from the ensuing drive. Ole Miss would answer right back, scoring another touchdown. Quarterback Matt Corral would find running back Jerrion Ealy for a 15 yard touchdown catch to ultimately put the game away. The Bulldogs would come down and score a touchdown followed by converting on the two point conversion, but the game would already be out of reach. In the end, the Ole Miss Rebels would win 31-21 and it would be the first time in program history that the Rebels reached the 10 win mark in the regular season.
