“Wednesday,” the popular Netflix hit, is back with a second season, currently trending in the top ten. The show returns in two parts. The first four episodes dropped Aug. 6, and the remaining episodes will be released Sept. 3. This season returns with more scare, horror and fear than ever before.
Actor Jenna Ortega reprises her role as Wednesday Addams in season 2. Wednesday’s brother Pugsley, who is played by Isaac Ordonez, was featured way more often this season. Her parents Morticia and Gomez Addams, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán, got a lot more involved in the school in order to keep an eye on their kids. Although The Hyde and his master, Laurel Gates, were defeated in season 1, they still make appearances later in the season.
Wednesday finally gets her power under control and uses it to solve mysteries over the summer. She then starts another year at Nevermore Academy, but this time with her little brother alongside her. This season Wednesday faces an even more dangerous and serious threat: a stalker.
The plot of season 2 is more complex and uplifted than last season with more problems and mysteries than imaginable. Throughout the episodes Wednesday is followed by a group of crows that plot on her and report back to their master to let them know what Wednesday is up to. This being the main mystery, many little ones tried to get Wednesday off her track.
With her powers somewhat under control Wednesday has a better chance of solving mysteries. Given an opportunity to keep eyes on their daughter with her new power, Wednesday’s parents take a role on Nevermore’s campus.
Part 1 of season 2 received mixed reviews. Many viewers praised Ortega’s acting, but felt the episodes were overcrowded, with too many storylines competing for attention. Others, however, have said this is the best season yet and cannot wait to see part 2.
Netflix has already confirmed a third season, expected possibly in early 2026. Producers say they are building deeper narratives and exploring possible spin-offs within the Addams Family universe.
Based on early reviews and Netflix’s statements, season 2 is a hit. Bigger and better than before, “Wednesday” has definitely grown since the first season in 2022. It has gained more fans, views and is developing new things for the future every day.
