Oxford’s coffee scene just got a major boost with the grand opening of 7Brew Coffee, a high-energy coffee shop offering a diverse menu and welcoming atmosphere. Part of a growing national chain, 7Brew opened its doors on August 18 and is located at the corner of University Avenue and South 17th Street.
After many months of preparation, the highly anticipated 7Brew location has officially opened, something many Oxford residents had eagerly awaited. Haily Nicely, the manager of Oxford’s 7Brew stand, admits the opening has come with some adjustments but says it was a worthwhile experience.
“The opening has been chaotic, and honestly, it’s really rewarding,” Nicely said. “It’s been in the works for quite a while, from planning and construction to hiring and training the team. Anytime you bring something new to a community, there are a lot of moving parts, but seeing it all come together and watching the team and customers connect makes it worth it.”
7Brew supports the communities where they open by working with local schools and businesses to build strong connections. Recently, 7Brew visited OHS and brought coffee and drinks for the teachers to encourage and motivate them for the upcoming school year.
“I think it’s a win-win,” teacher James Jimenez said. “It’s an opportunity for them to promote their product and promote their new establishment while also showing that they want to help support and show appreciation of the local teachers here in Oxford.”
7Brew prides itself on its staff efficiency and positive work environment. Jane Anne Singletary, an employee at 7Brew, believes the way the team is structured is what sets 7Brew apart from the many other coffee places in Oxford. She thinks the new 7Brew location has been a long time coming and will gain a lot of popularity.
“It’s very different because we are very fast-paced, energetic, organized, and also we are very much about cultivating kindness,” Singletary said. “I think the business is going to be very busy here at the beginning because a lot of people are expecting us to get a 7Brew here.”
One of the potential challenges for customers at 7Brew might be the location. While its proximity to schools and workplaces is convenient, the small parking lot and busy street may create parking difficulties during peak hours. Even with these setbacks, the community is still very excited about having a 7Brew close by.
“The disadvantage of the location is its placement on University. You have to turn in, and there’s not much space for all the cars, so traffic might back up onto the road,” Singletary said. “But that’s only one disadvantage. I think it’s going to be a really good location because it’s going to make Oxford more popular and allow the community to grow.”
Jerkeria Petis, 7Brew employee, would recommend to anyone looking for a job in Oxford to join the 7Brew team. They have a positive atmosphere and strong sense of community. Employees describe 7Brew as more than just a workplace; it’s a community where positivity and teamwork thrive.
“Since I have been there I’ve seen no bad attitudes, no bad energy.” Petis said. “If you want to work there I would definitely recommend it, it’s really fun and you can make so many friends. But it’s not like we are just coworkers, it’s like we are a family.”
7Brew not only focuses on the quality of their drinks but they also care about the atmosphere and the experience. 7Brew stands out among the other coffee places in Oxford because they treat people with kindness. They want to make every customer feel happy and welcome.
“What sets us apart is our speed and our vibe,” Nicely said. “We’re not just serving coffee– we are serving kindness, energy and connections. We want every customer to leave happier than they came, whether that’s from a great drink, a smile, or just a fun experience in the line.”
