School surveys at Oxford High School are honestly pointless because no one takes them seriously and nothing ever changes as a result of the surveys.
Every few months, students are asked to fill out these long surveys about how they feel about the school, the teachers or the workload, but it feels like a complete waste of time because the same problems keep happening year after year. Most students just click random answers or rush through them because they know the results do not matter.
Teachers and administrators always say the surveys are “anonymous” and “help improve the school,” but students rarely see any real improvements that come from them. For example, students complain about things like crowded hallways, bad Wi-Fi or too much homework, but those issues are still there every single year. Even when kids give thoughtful answers, the feedback seems to disappear into a black hole.
The surveys also feel repetitive and boring, with the same questions being asked over and over again. Everyone already knows what the general answers will be, so there is no real point in asking when the students have already answered multiple times. Plus, students feel like the surveys are only a way for the school to look good online and say they listen to students without actually having to make changes to our school. If the administration actually cared about students’ opinions, they could talk to students directly or implement changes based on the surveys instead of using these useless forms that no one takes seriously. In the end, school surveys at Oxford High do not improve anything; they just take up class time, annoy students and make it look like the school is doing something productive when it really is not.
