The Ole Miss Rebels and Austin Simmons are poised for a historic year where Simmons can break multiple school records and go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in Ole Miss history.
Simmons, a Pinecrest Florida native committed and enrolled at Ole Miss at only 16 years old, contains all the physical and mental tools to be a great quarterback. The big moment is no stranger to Simmons as he was thrust into the fire versus Georgia after a Jaxson Dart injury last season.
Simmons converted a crucial fourth down and ended his drive with a score in the eventual win over Georgia. Simmons has gotten comparisons to several college football legends like Tua Tagovailoa and Matt Leinart from his head coach Lane Kiffin.
Simmons and the Rebels will not be short handed with weapons when he takes the field as a starter for the first time in his college career. Ole Miss added key wide receiver transfers such as De’Zhaun Stribling, Tre Wallace, and Deuce Alexander along with
key rushers such as Damien Taylor, Kewan Lacey and Logan Diggs.
Simmons will face his fair share of challenges throughout this year including some of the top defenses in not only the SEC, but in the nation as well.
Simmons and the Rebels are in store for a year that will turn heads and break not only Ole Miss records, but national records as well. Rebel fans are in for a successful year led by their Heisman hopeful quarterback.
